Andrew represented an interested party at the inquest arising from a blast furnace at the Corus Steelworks in Port Talbot.In recent years he has represented a nursing professional at an inquest into the death of a prisoner in custody.He also has experience of representing interested parties in inquests involving complicated medical issues. Andrew has appeared before numerous regulatory bodies including the Financial Conduct Authority, the Nursing and Midwifery Council and at licensing hearings/appeals.He regularly prosecutes on behalf of Companies House as respondent to appeals in the Crown Court. In recent years Andrew has prosecuted on behalf of local authorities in respect of offences arising from taxi licence enforcement/offences.He has been instructed in respect of a number of taxi licence appeal hearings. He also has experience of dealing with scrap metal licensing. Andrew has a developing practice in respect of transport law generally.He has appeared regularly before the Traffic Commissioner representing operators in Public Inquiries.
In his early years of practice Andrew regularly appeared in the criminal courts.He is experienced in dealing with large scale police investigations having been instructed to prosecute and defend in a wide variety of complex and lengthy trials.His criminal law experience coupled with his civil practice places him in a strong position to advise and conduct cases in respect of actions against the police and to deal with prison law cases.
Andrew has regularly represented local authorities in planning enforcement matters.He has advised on a number of planning matters relating to enforcement proceedings.He had advised in judicial review proceedings and has experience of drafting grounds of resistance for respondents.Andrew’s experience of dealing with complex criminal proceedings has assisted in advising local authorities on the appropriate means by which to approach their role as prosecutor.Andrew recently delivered a workshop on effective planning prosecutions. Andrew has also advised local authorities in respect of disclosure obligations when prosecuting,in multi-party investigations and in respect of third party applications.
Andrew has a keen interest in sport in particular rugby, golf and skiing.He recognises broad nature of sports law as a burgeoning area of work to which his advisory and advocacy experience is well-suited.His experience in dealing with disciplinary tribunals for professional persons translates well into the field of sports law.

Andrew undertakes all aspects of personal injury and clinical negligence work.He advises and represents claimants and defendants.He regularly appears in fast and multi-track cases.His personal injury work includes advising and representing clients in respect of all types of claims including employer and public liability cases, industrial disease and road traffic accidents.He is experienced in dealing with fatal accident claims and CICA applications. His clinical negligence practice predominantly consists of claimant work.He has regularly dealt with cases involving complex issues of medical causation.Andrew has considerable experience of cross-examining medical experts. Andrew has significant experience of dealing with claims involving allegations of fraud.He has extensive experience of dealing with fraud cases in the criminal courts. Andrew regularly deals with Costs and Case Management Hearings and has developed significant experience of dealing with costs issues and budgets.He has also conducted costs only hearings.
