A skilled negotiator, he also has extensive experience of alternative dispute resolution procedures such as arbitration, mediation and expert determination.
Areas of expertise:
Jonathan’s practice covers all aspects of Civil, Commercial and Chancery litigation. His main areas of expertise include:
Contract disputes
Professional negligence claims
Partnership and shareholder disputes
Property disputes (including possession claims)
Construction disputes
Debt recovery and insolvency
Enforcement (including asset tracing)
Costs
He also advises clients on dispute avoidance, in particular during corporate and commercial transactions, with a view to reducing the risk of subsequent litigation.
Jonathan says:
“Having practised as a solicitor, I understand the pressures on professional clients and the practicalities of client relationships and conducting litigation. I’m willing to talk through issues informally, as they arise, which I find leads to smoother working relationships with clients.”
“I adopt a practical approach to work, concentrating, first and foremost, on clients’ objectives and then applying my skills in order to achieve them as efficiently as possible, rather than fixating on the legalities and litigating for the sake of it.”
“I work hard to understand the clients’ needs and encourage them to be open and honest about their objectives, as this provides a clear focus – as well as even greater satisfaction when we achieve them.”
