Common Law/Civil Litigation:
Mr Perry enjoys a busy practice in County Courts nationwide, dealing with fast/multi track and small claims in relation to personal injury, RTAs, appeals, judicial reviews, detailed assessments, disposals, trials and interim applications.
Crime:
His criminal practice has seen him appear in serious sexual offences, complex fraud and major drug conspiracy cases. Mr Perry is a recognised firearms expert and is regularly involved in criminal cases throughout England and Wales that involve the use / misuse of firearms. Building on the strength of his criminal practice Mr's Perry's expertise extends to Prison Law representing prisoners at prison adjudications/ disciplinary hearings, before the Parole Board and before the High Court, Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court in the context of judicial review challenges.
Regulatory Work:
Mr Perry comes from a rural and shooting background personally and this has led to him building a very successful rural, agricultural, countryside and equine practice. He is a renowned firearms barrister in the shooting community and provides expertise and assistance to many rural organisations and their members including BASC, CPSA, Countryside Alliance, the NGO, NFU, CLA and the British Horse Society.
Mr Lewis Perry’s regulatory works also extends to Environmental matters / HSE / Industrial Disease / civil actions against the Police.
Licensing:
The Licensing Act 2003 continues to generate new and difficult issues that require expert advice from a barrister who is both familiar with the developing case-law and sufficiently experienced to advance their clients cases in an appropriate way before a variety of decision makers. Mr Perry receives instruction nationwide by pub, nightclub and hotel owners, additionally casinos, betting shops, amusement arcades, bingo, lotteries, on-line gambling, competitions and other gambling activities. that are trying to expand or protect their estates by applications for new premises licenses, extending premises licenses or protecting them from review.
